Color World Housepainting was built on exterior painting in 1993 and for almost two decades Color World Housepainting now Five Star Painting has specialized in commercial and residential exterior painting. See below for how we do it!
Step 1:
Washing. All of the areas to be painted will be thoroughly washed in preparation for the paint job. This will help the paint adhere to the surface to prevent cracking in peeling. We use a 10-1 bleach detergent solution and a conical injector on the pressure washer. This removes mildew, algae, dirt and salt deposits.
Step 2:
Prepping the Job Site. All of the surfaces and landscaping to be worked around will be protected with canvas and plastic tarps. Tape will be used to protect any areas where tarps would be impractical. The painting team will remove downspouts and address numbers where applicable.
Step 3:
Surface Preparation. First we hand-scrape the area to be painting to remove any loose, flaking and/or peeling paint. Where necessary, as in the re-staining of cedar wood siding, we will use a wire brush. Then we caulk joints and seams anywhere wood meets wood to prevent exterior moisture entry.
Step 4:
Painting or Staining. Painting doesn’t begin until our teams complete a thorough preparation job. We use the best quality paints and applicators to ensure that your paint job is beautiful and lasting. For exterior stucco and aluminum siding painting we use a 100% latex paint with emulsa-bond, which helps the paint adhere to the exterior surface on the first coat. We then apply a second coat for coverage and UV ray protection.
Step 5:
Cleaning. On multi-day jobs, we pack up and pick up the job site at the end of the day so our supplies never hinder your day-to-day life. At the end of every job, we complete a comprehensive site cleanup to ensure that the only thing you notice after we leave is your beautiful new paint job.
Step 6:
Final Inspection. After the painting has been completed and before the crews pack up their equipment, we do a final walk-around with the customer to ensure all contracted areas are painted to the client’s satisfaction.
Step 7:
Survey. After the painting is completed to the customer’s satisfaction and all cleanup and inspections have been finished, we ask our customers to fill out a customer satisfaction survey to ensure that all work has been performed to meet or exceed their expectations and standards.
