As the founder and owner of Color World Housepainting, Inc. (now with Five Star Painting), I know that we earn our reputation with every project we complete. We stake our success on your satisfaction and the high standards set for the quality and service we deliver.
I started painting in 1993 to fund my college years. My passion for the business grew and I incorporated Color World in 1997. Since those early days, I believe I’ve had a hand in painting over 20,000 houses a crossed the USA. I think the formula for success in this business is pretty simple: it is a mixture of professional service and a commitment to outstanding quality while striving to exceed customer expectations. I have used this foundation as I successfully expanded Color World beyond Columbus, into Dayton and Cincinnati. In 2008, Color World Housepainting, Inc. merged with Five Star Painting so we can provide even better quality and outstanding service. Five Star Painting now has more than 60 franchises in 4 different countries. I have now taken on the role of Partner and VP of Sales for Five Star Franchising. Our goal is to provide all customers with Five Star quality without the Five Star price.
My family is an important aspect of my life. My wife Amy Hodgson is in sales at MI Homes and is one of the top sales people there. I’m very proud of how hard she works. I enjoy coaching my son’s football and baseball teams in Dublin and watching my daughter in the Dublin Coffman Marching Band. In our free time, I enjoy scuba diving with my daughter and skiing. I also serve as the president of the Amberleigh Homeowner’s Association in Dublin where we live.
Beyond Color World / Five Star and my family, I am passionate about sports. Color World/Five Star is an official sponsor for several local teams, including the NHL Columbus Blue Jackets. To support our community, Color World/ Five Star sponsor an OSU Buckeye football endowment scholarship. On home football game Saturday’s, look for me at the Color World/ Five Star Hospitality tent, a fixture in the east parking lot of OSU Stadium.
Jon Boston – Vice President

Current Home: Delaware , OH
I joined Color World Housepainting, Inc. in 2000, painting houses to support my education at Malone College. One of my proudest achievements at Malone College was playing as a pitcher for the Malone College baseball team during all four of my college years. After graduation, I became the Regional Manager of Cincinnati for Color World. My success in sales led me to my next role, the Cincinnati-Dayton Regional Vice President. After four successful years in the Cincinnati-Dayton market, I was transferred to our home office in Columbus where I now serve in sales and operational management, as well as handling accounting and payroll for our crews and staff.
Since Color World Housepainting’s merge with Five Star Painting, I am most excited to be part of such a large franchise system that still upholds the very high customer service standards that Color World Housepainting was always dedicated to providing. I know that my success with this company is due to my commitment to excellent customer service and I believe this is a key difference that sets us apart from many painting companies in the area.
Outside from my life at Five Star Painting, formerly Color World Housepainting, I enjoy spending time with my wife, son, and two dogs. I also enjoy any and all music and movies.
Ryan Beery – Regional Vice-President, Cincinnati & Dayton

I recently joined Color World Housepainting now Five Star Painting as the Regional Vice President of the Dayton and Cincinnati regions. This is the ideal opportunity for me to combine my sales experience with my passion for home improvement.
I have an extensive background in the landscaping services industry, having owned and personally managed a lawn and landscape company for over 10 years. My background helps me to understand the importance of taking care of my customers and providing them with a worry-free experience.
I grew up in Smithville, a small town in northeast Ohio and attended the University of Akron where I graduated with a degree in Business Administration. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and being outdoors, including such activities as hiking and skiing.
Tom Hodgson, the owner of Color World Housepainting Now Five Star Painting, is my brother in-law. With the reputation that he has built for the company, I know that with every painting project I complete, I need to strive for your satisfaction and deliver the high standards of quality and service that you expect.
